Richard O. White | Richard Oliver "Whitey" White was born in Camden to Dorothy White in February of 1953; brother of Robert A. White; nephew of Oliver White. He lived on Delview Lane in Delanco, attended local schools and graduated from Riverside High School. Prior to his military service, Richard worked for Cook and Bowers Candies. Richard joined the armed forces in March 1971 and served as a Structures Technition in the USAF during the Vietnam conflict. He was stationed in Thailand where he met and married Sue White in 1974. He also served in Okinawa and Guam. His service was extended at the request of the government and he later served at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota; for 20 years of service before leaving the service with the rank of Master Sergeant in March 1991. He received many commendations, including the Air Force Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters; NCO PME Ribbon; Small Arms Expert Marksman/Rifle; Air Force Longevity Service Award with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; National Defense Service Medal; Air Force Training Ribbon; Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device.
